We are seeking a Building Materials Consultantwho is driven to work closely with contractors, homebuilders and self-builders by developing new relationships and growing accounts through leveraging our specialty lines: Lumber, Drywall, Insulation, Roofing, Masonry and Window & Doors.
REQUIREMENTS

- Microsoft Office skills and willingness to learn new software programs
- A knowledge of building materials and the construction process is essential
- Able to quickly develop a trusting relationship with new customers, and build rapport with existing customers by providing quality customer service and maintaining service standards
- Strong verbal and written communication

Responsibilities:
- Provide the highest level of service to all customers.
- Always maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers
- Advises customers by providing knowledge of products and services
- Ensure special order products are ordered in a timely manner following correct ordering procedures
- Follows-up on estimates, special orders and products ordered for customers
- Comply with company’s pricing policies and procedures
- Work with other team members and leaders to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
- Deal directly with vendors and complete special orders as required
- Drive sales through engagement of customers, consultative sales, and sharing of product knowledge
- Clarify and understand customers’ needs and provide them with the best solution(s) for their projects.
- Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions
- Take initiative and confidently direct customer interactions
- Produces quotes, material lists and complete follow up with customers
- Resolve customer challenges quickly and efficiently.
- Maintains knowledge on products and market conditions
- Works closely with Head Office for special pricing
- Strong communication with management and foreman for upcoming projects to ensure inventory is available in a timely manner
