Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre is looking for positive and energetic individuals to join the Front Desk team in the role of Part Time Front Desk Agent. This individual is responsible for registering guests at the hotel and acting as an ambassador to the Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre.
Reporting to the Front Office Manager, the Front Desk Agent is responsible for delivering exemplary customer service to the guests throughout all stages of their stay. The ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings and Nights; Sunday through Saturday.
P.S. Morning shifts start at 7 am - you will need your own transportation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
  • Previous experience in customer service and ability to handle high volumes of challenging guest-related interactions with professionalism
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with excellent communication and observational skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, be well organized, and detail-oriented
  • Ability to use a variety of computer applications
  • Cash handling experience
  • Maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics, grooming and attitude toward guests, clients and other associates
  • Maintain professional business confidentiality as required
  • Involves long periods of standing; prolonged computer use throughout the shift
  • Will require lifting of luggage for storage

Responsibilities
  • Provide courteous, professional and attentive service at all times
  • Process guest arrivals and departures, including all necessary payments
  • Upsell guest rooms and packages and promote other services of the hotel
  • Be well informed of all hotel rates & packages, hotel amenities and facilities, local area and attractions
  • Offer referrals for services and handle requests for information
  • Follow up on special requests, concerns & inquiries
  • Handle and store luggage
  • Answering the switchboard, directing calls, responding to inquiries, and taking reservations
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk and lobby
  • Responsible for managing a cash float and performing cashier duties
  • Balancing credit cards, cash, debit transactions, cheques
  • Participate in safety and emergency procedures
  • Hotel errands include mail/package pick up and drop off, dry cleaning pick up and drop off, and bank errands.
  • Work closely with the housekeeping department to coordinate room status updates, special deliveries, and maintenance requests
  • Other daily tasks as assigned by the Front Office Manager
