What you will be doing as a Front Desk Agent * Our Front Desk Agents welcome all guests by providing excellent customer service, being local experts and being able to solve any guest problem. * Tons of opportunities to experience our destination on your time off as you become a local expert—free and discounted activities, free hostel stays within the HI Canada network and more. * Being part of a not-for-profit organization that embraces sustainable tourism. * Room for growth and discovery! What we look for * You’ll be somebody who enjoys working with and meeting new people; we’ll train you up on our Property Management system, and some prior experience is always an asset. * You’ll need to be a quick learner, comfortable thinking on your feet and solving problems – you’ll quickly become an expert on all things to do with the hostel, the town and outdoor adventures, and share your knowledge with our guests. * You’ll bring your positive energy and be able to smile in the face of daily challenges. An understanding of service recovery and experience handling and resolving guest complaints effectively is essential. * We’re always looking for people who are looking to grow within the industry. Most of our promotions are from within; most of our Assistant General Managers and Managers in our hostel network started as Front Desk Agents.
