EDUCATION:

  • Secondary School Diploma

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years customer services experience
  • Previous experience as a Residence Clerk is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills in order to deal with students, guests, parents, etc.
  • Good judgement and the ability to work in an environment where there are constant interruptions, and the potential for problems.
  • As the Front Desk Clerk works in a location that is staffed 24/7, the ability to consistently work the assigned shifts is paramount. This includes the ability to share weekends and night shifts.
  • Experience using Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

RESPONSIBILITIES

This role is for the summer months only (May – early September).
Requires in-person training May 5-6.
The Front Desk Clerk will provide front line support and assistance to students, parents, and conference guests of Western Housing at one or more of Western’s residences. The incumbent will be responsible for duties including answering a large number of inquiries, checking guests in/out and room key replacement. The incumbent will maintain a friendly and professional demeanor to ensure the best customer experience for all guests. The Front Desk Clerk will act as an ambassador for Western and will liaise with other departments.
