Box Acupuncture is San Jose’s premier Acupuncture clinic in the bay area! We are looking for an amazing medical receptionist to our constantly growing practice. We work with patients of all backgrounds including professional athletes and executive professionals.
Patients will turn to you for information on scheduling and processing payments. Our Front Desk Patient Coordinators should be friendly, well-spoken, a people person, and able to take the initiative and make the job their own after initial training. Prior experience in customer service is preferred, and working in a medical office previously is a plus.
If you can build this position into your own and become independent without relying on others, this position is for you. If you are timid or shy, this position is not for you.
This position can potentially grow into an Assistant Insurance Claims Biller position that would increase your role in the clinic in addition to financial growth.
Your goal will be to ensure the smooth workflow of our clinic so that our patients receive the best possible care. Further training, experience, and interest can grow into helping assist our Acupuncturists by turning over rooms and re-stocking.
Our clinic culture is that we work together to ensure patients are relaxed and enjoy the environment of receiving treatment. This means that we work as a team to ensure that we are all supported.

SKILLS

  • Prior experience is preferred, especially in customer service or in other medical clinics. Otherwise, we will train you.
  • Polite and able to communicate effectively among patients and practitioners is a must.
  • Prior experience or understanding of insurance terminology is a +.
  • Basic math skills are a must (use of a calculator) in order to determine cost of treatment
  • Responsible and on time
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Patience and discretion
  • Organizational and multitasking skills
  • High school diploma with a college education is a plus.
  • Spanish-Speaking or Chinese-Speaking a +
Candidate must be able to work Saturdays and Sundays 8:30-5PM. There is an option to work another day of the week from 9:30-6PM. Total consistent working hours are at least 16 and up to 32. We are looking for stable applicants for long-term employment as our practice grows; we want this position within the clinic to be a lifelong career. You also must be able to have consistent transportation to and from this location. Being on-time is very important.
PTO, Sick Time off are available after 90-probationary period, and 401k is available after a full year of work. FIGS scrubs will be provided after the initial 90-day probationary period.
