The Role We are seeking a friendly, organised, and professional Front Desk Receptionist to join Machete on a 6-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave, starting in early February. As the first point of contact for the business, you will represent Machete and play a key role in delivering a positive first impression and ensuring the smooth running of the front desk. Key Responsibilities Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner Answer, screen, and direct incoming phone calls and emails Manage meeting room bookings and ensure rooms are prepared Receive, sort, and distribute post and deliveries Maintain a clean, organised, and presentable reception area Provide general administrative support to internal teams as required Manage visitor sign-in procedures and follow security protocols Liaise with couriers, suppliers, and building management Handle general enquiries and redirect them appropriately Skills & Experience Previous experience in a receptionist, front desk, or customer-facing role Excellent spoken and written English Strong communication and interpersonal skills High level of organisation and attention to detail Professional, confident, and approachable manner Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace Reliable, punctual, and well-presented What We’re Looking For Availability to start around the beginning of February Someone comfortable stepping into a maternity cover role and working independently A proactive, adaptable individual with a positive attitude and strong customer focus A competitive and attractive salary Annual wellbeing allowance to support your physical and mental health Regular social events to foster strong team connections Daily lunch allowance when working from the office
