Description BASIC FUNCTION Front Desk Receptionists are a major part of the "personality" of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club and give help in both the initial and final impressions that the guests have of the facilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages as needed. Greet guests and contractors when they arrive. You are the first person that visitors come in contact with. It’s important that you are courteous and cooperative at all times; greet them with a smile and make them feel welcomed. You will also be the person that assists them the most. Actively promote the dining, racquet sports, pool, fitness and yachting businesses and all upcoming club events. All guest room and transient boater clerk functions, i.e. the friendly and efficient checking in and out of guests. Compile, copy, sort, and file records of office activities, business transactions, and other activities. Data entry such as create, update and manage spreadsheets. Know how to operate the copy machine, fax machine, postage machine, Word, Excel, and other computer programs, in order to accomplish certain duties. Accept packages from UPS, FedEx and USPS. Assist the administrative staff with various duties as directed. MARGINAL FUNCTIONS Ability to work any assigned shift/work schedule. Any other task, written or verbal, assigned by Management. KEY COMPETENCIES Problem-solving Adaptability Customer service orientation Attention to detail and accuracy Communication skills - verbal and written Organizational and planning Time management skills and the ability to prioritize work Requirements QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or equivalent experience/training Ability to accomplish necessary tasks on a computer.
