We are looking for a personable, well-organized, and detail-focused Front Desk Receptionist to join our client’s practice. This role involves overseeing front desk operations, handling incoming calls, verifying insurance coverage, and supporting patients with scheduling and general inquiries. Prior experience in ophthalmology and working with HMO plans is required. Responsibilities Professionally handle a high volume of incoming patient calls with efficiency and courtesy. Accurately schedule, confirm, and update patient appointments. Verify HMO insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage details. Respond to patient questions and concerns promptly with professionalism and empathy. Collaborate closely with clinical staff to ensure smooth, efficient patient flow and care. Safeguard patient confidentiality and maintain full compliance with HIPAA regulations. Prior experience in a remote medical front desk within a U.S.-based ophthalmology practice or clinical setting is a must. Proven ophthalmology experience with mandatory knowledge of HMO plans. Strong expertise in insurance verification, eligibility, and benefits coordination. Excellent verbal communication skills with a patient-focused, customer service mindset. Proficient in EMR systems, phone platforms, and standard computer applications. Please note that this is a full-time contractor position (40 hours per week) with a pay rate of $6 – $8 per hour depending on skillset and experience. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM PST.
