Description POSITION OVERVIEW: The Patient Advocate is responsible for ensuring the clinic meets the required standards to be successful. This includes HIPAA rules, OSHA rules, Compliance rules and regulations against fraud and abuse. Assignments are made in terms of broad goals and objectives and the incumbent must apply considerable decision making and independent judgement in daily activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Acknowledge, greet and register patients in a polite, prompt and helpful manner Verify current informational statuses and collect insurance information, demographic information and signatures as needed Collect copays and self pay fees Phreesia appointment validations; cancellation/reschedules Ensure completed Pre-registration on all patients Maintain a clean, organized waiting area and workspace Communicates with clinical staff through Microsoft Teams Professional appearance and demeanor Accuracy and accountability for designated tasks Ability to work independently as well as with others REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Knowledge of computer systems and applications Knowledge of grammar, spelling and punctuation Skills in operating business office machines (phones, computers, copy machines) Skills in answering the telephone in a professional manner Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instruction Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with patients, employees and the public PAY & BENEFITS: Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Generous PTO package and paid holidays Company-paid life insurance and long term disability insurance Ability to purchase accident insurance, short and long-term disability insurance.
