Description

Ortho OIC is a fully equipped, standalone orthopedic Urgent Care facility in vibrant Arlington, Virginia. We are dedicated to treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries and conditions affecting the bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. Our purpose is to provide specialized care for acute orthopedic issues, thereby helping to alleviate overburdened emergency rooms.
We are seeking a professional, energetic, and reliable candidate with the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment. We are currently offering a full time position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. One to two years of medical receptionist or background in general office work experience preferred but not required. Prior experience with Athena Health preferred.
  2. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred but not required.
  3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and decision making skills.
  4. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  5. Ability to manage time effectively to complete assigned tasks.
  6. Professional and courteous demeanor and appearance.
    *Compensation negotiable based on experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Serves as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors.
  2. Screens calls, arranges appointments, collects co-payments, performs various data entry tasks, and assists with coordinating provider schedule.
  3. Prepares and maintains patient records/files, reviews incoming faxes/scans, and sort mail.
  4. Performs billing and bookkeeping functions including collecting cash payments, posting and balancing daily sheets of transactions, bank deposits, etc.
  5. Performs office duties in a timely manner.
  6. Assist providers/clinical staff as needed needed (helping triage patients, responding to patient questions/concerns, occasionally fitting DMEs, etc.)
  7. Work with practice manger to develop and maintain relationships with local primary care practices.
