POSITION SUMMARY:

The Arts Connection is seeking a Front Desk Receptionist to be the first point of contact in person, via the phone, and through email for the school. In addition to customer service, the Front Desk Receptionist will be responsible for maintaining order in public areas of the school and assisting with administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will be skilled in communication, well-organized, and able to take initiative. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable working with and around children.

EDUCATION & WORK

  • Secondary School completion (required)
  • One year of reception or administrative experience (an asset)
  • Previous work experience in a childcare/school environment (an asset)

SKILLS

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, including the ability to respond professionally, courteously, and in a clear manner.
  • Advanced skills using MS Office products and Google Suite
  • Adept at learning new cloud based systems
  • Attention to detail and well organized
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other staff, parents and professionals
Responsibilities

FRONT DESK DUTIES

  • Responds to emails promptly
  • Answers and transfers phone calls
  • Answers and/or forwards all program-specific inquiries to the correct contact person(s)
  • Assigns keys in and out
  • Direct clients and guests to the appropriate areas of the school
  • Sends, receives, and distributes mail and packages

MAINTENANCE DUTIES

  • Keeps front desk and lobby neat and tidy
  • Keeps front desk washroom and staff kitchen clean and stocked
  • Unload supply boxes and restock storage closets
  • Receives repair and cleaning requests and directs them accordingly

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES

  • Escort children to and from extracurricular classrooms
  • Maintains pick up schedule for students’ extracurricular activities
  • Assists staff and managers with administrative tasks as requested
  • Processes petty cash
  • Uses registration platforms to gather student information
  • Additional duties as assigned
