The Picton Harbour Inn is one of the best places to stay in Prince Edward County - Ontario’s newest wine and culinary destination. We offer 29 comfortable guest rooms and 3 suites.
Located at the head of Picton Bay, the Picton Harbour Inn has a beuatifully landscaped waterfront including 10 boat slips with access to shore power and water.
The Lighthouse Restaurant is also located on site and is a favourite breakfast destination for locals and visitors alike. The casual atmosphere, friendly service, and reasonable prices make it a popular destination for visitors and residents alike.
We pay above minimum wage and offer benefits for our full-time employees.

THE POSITION

We are looking for a skilled Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the face of our business and connect with guests in a friendly manner. Candidates should have customer service experience but may apply with a desire to learn.
The ideal Front Desk Receptionist enjoys being around people and can manage multiple tasks at once. They must understand the importance of responding quickly to guests’ needs and complaints.
The position pays $20.95/hr plus yearly bonusing. Available shifts are a mix of 7:00am to 3:00pm and 3:00pm to 11:00pm. The position is full time (4-5 shifts per week) and will include weekends.

Responsibilities include:

  • Register guests and assign rooms. Accommodate special requests whenever possible.
  • Know room locations, types of rooms available, room rates as well as services of the property
  • Be sales-minded. Present options and alternatives to guests and offer assistance in making choices
  • Process guest check-ins and check-out
  • Thoroughly understand and adhere to proper debit, credit, and cash handling policies and procedures
  • Know and enforce Company policies
  • Be aware of major activities within the Inn including large group reservations and renovations or projects
  • Know how to use front desk office equipment including required software
  • Respond to all emails with pertinent and accurate information in a professional manner
  • Use proper telephone etiquette. Always answer the phone and return any messages for missed calls
  • Maintain the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk area and all surrounding public use areas such as the rear hallway and washrooms
  • Maintain the stock of the front desk
  • Complete and initial the ‘Front Desk Handover’ log daily
  • Know safety and emergency procedures and be aware of accident prevention policies

Requirements of those applying:

  • Proven experience in the customer service industry (recommended, but not required)
  • Experience in using computers.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Friendly manner is a must
  • Ability to follow and enforce all company policies
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Bilingualism is a bonus
