Job Description:

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Basic Functions/Responsibilities

  • Acts as the main point of contact for all tenants
  • Handles inquiries and complaints from tenants
  • Conducts wellness checks where required
  • Consistently demonstrates respect and empathy for all guests
  • Maintains availability for personal, practical, and moral support
  • Answers the program department telephone and records/remits messages
  • Accurately records day-to-day happenings
  • Liaises with referral sources and other external agencies as needed, provides referrals for tenants where required
  • Ensures ongoing monitoring of policies
  • Performs other assigned job-related duties as required to ensure a safe and secure environment

Written and Verbal Communication

  • Accurately records day-to-day happenings using appropriate methods
  • Maintains logbooks and completes incident reports

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Qualifications and Certifications:

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent is required
  • Completion of a 2-year Community College program will be a strong asset
  • Criminal Record Check
  • CPR, First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Training an asset
  • Computer ability

Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements

  • The incumbent must have more up to one year of prior related experience, including experience with frontline work in a social service setting.

The salary range is based on Collective Agreement, not any other factors.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $23.64 to $24.02 with a maximum of $24.39.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.

Responsibilities

POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:

The Supportive Housing Front Desk Worker will be responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment in the supportive housing program and responding to tenant inquiries and complaints in accordance with the program plan, contractual agreements, Salvation Army standards, best practices and identified tenant needs. They will report directly to the Program Supervisor.
