JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Software Engineer (Front-End) with expertise in React and TypeScript to join Marriott’s technology team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing user interfaces while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and high-quality solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of front-end development experience.
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand, etc.).
• Knowledge of modern build tools/workflows (Webpack, Vite).
• Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous programming.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.).
• Solid understanding of Git and version control workflows.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork in Agile environments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Familiarity with Next.js and server-side rendering (SSR).
• Understanding of Micro-UI architecture patterns.
• Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, Cypress).
• Knowledge of responsive design & mobile-first principles.
• Understanding of UI/UX design best practices.
• Open-source contributions or an active GitHub profile.

• Design, develop, and maintain front-end components and UIs using React & TypeScript.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to implement user-friendly features across form factors.
• Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and propose alternative solutions when needed.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and cross-platform compatibility.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues across front-end layers.
• Stay current with emerging front-end technologies, tools, and frameworks.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, team members, and clients.
