Description
Front-End Drivers operate front-load waste collection trucks servicing commercial and multi-residential customers on assigned routes. This role involves safely collecting and transporting waste or recyclables to transfer stations or landfills while delivering reliable customer service and maintaining high safety standards. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a Front-End waste collection truck on commercial and multi-residential routes Service customer containers (2–6 yard bins), positioning and emptying using hydraulic lifting equipment Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete required documentation Navigate tight service areas and maneuver vehicle safely in confined spaces Maintain clean customer sites by removing loose debris after service Interact professionally with customers and report service or safety concerns Transport collected material to designated transfer or disposal facilities Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and regulatory driving standards Maintain route productivity and service quality expectations Perform other duties as assigned Key Requirements Valid Ontario DZ (or AZ) driver’s licence with clean abstract Minimum 2 year commercial truck driving experience (front-end experience) Ability to safely operate hydraulic lifting and compaction equipment Comfortable working in tight commercial service environments Ability to meet safety-sensitive position requirements Strong reliability, attendance, and safety mindset Ability to perform physical tasks including container positioning and repeated truck entry/exit Key Benefits Competitive pay and overtime opportunities Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits Pension / RRSP program with company contribution Stable, year-round employment in essential services Local routes — home daily PPE and safety equipment provided Career growth opportunities across GFL operations We thank you for your interest.
