Overview:
Tantus Technologies, Inc. (Tantus) - recognized by the Washington Post as a Top Workplace - is seeking an a Front End Java/React Developer to support a federal client.
Location: Hybrid role in Bethesda, MD.
Clearance: This position supports a federal contract and requires the ability to pass a background check.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop: Develop, maintain and organize a library of reusable JS/React components for various applications and systems.
  • Tools: Use JavaScript, CSS, HTML as well as react tools including React.js, Webpack, Enzyme, Redux and Flux.
  • Wireframe Translation: Translate wireframes or high-fidelity mockups into high quality JS-enabled UI/UX.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize code components for maximum performance across an array of web-capable devices.
  • Design Systems: Use modern JS Design Systems or UI Kits (Next, Material, Chakra, etc.).
  • Responsive Design: Develop all UI/UX components to be scalable using responsive design that behaves the same across all browsers.
  • APIs: Develop RESTful APIs as well as modern authorization mechanisms such as JSON Web Tokens.
  • 508 Compliance: Design components to meet U.S. 508 Compliance standards and how to modify or alter existing Design System components to meet those standards.
  • Communication Skills / Collaboration: Communicate clearly and collaborate with teams to iterate on software development concepts and other ideas beneficial to the institute. Discuss and provide analysis of feasibility.
  • Troubleshooting / Analysis: Troubleshoot complex technical issues using tools to help debug and analyze data.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related fields
  • Min. 3 years experience in a Javascript development role
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Agile/Scrum development methodology knowledge/experience

Abilities:

  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic

Nice to Haves:

  • NIH experience
  • Net Core experience desired

Salary Range:

  • Salary range is $90,000-135,000/year. The salary range for this position reflects a variety of factors that influence compensation decisions, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs.
