Job Details Job Location: Granby Store - Granby, CT 06035 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $19.00 - $24.00 Hourly Job Shift: Any To provide quality customer service, directing and supervising all functions and activities of the Front-End personnel. And to maintain and operate the front end in an efficient manner within store policies. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner. Recognizes and follows all Cashier policies and procedures. Greets customers and provides them with quality customer service. Ensures that all department personnel are trained in the store’s methods of performing department activities. Performs employee relations activities related to direct report accountability (hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions etc.,) Responsible for managing the schedules for all direct reports by ensuring adequate coverage daily as well as vacations and call out coverage. Responsible for meeting weekly payroll budget. Responsible for following and enforcing proper department dress code policy. Monitors checkout stations (and self-service in stores that have this feature) for Cashier performance and needs. Monitors checkout stations to reduce customer delay. Calls additional workers to stations when situation warrants. Promotes customer goodwill by providing high standards of customer service. Issues cash to stations and removes excess cash. Audits cash register tapes. Processes all types of sales transactions accepted by the store, including, but not necessarily limited to, authorized Accounts Receivable sales, EFT transactions, WIC Coupons, Food Stamps, manufacturers coupons, gift certificates, etc., in strict accordance with established company policies and procedures. Maintains a regular and effective housekeeping program. Ensures proper bagging procedures by front-end personnel, including carry-out service. Orders and controls inventory of all front-end supplies including proper replenishment. Ensures that return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner. May compile reports, verify employee time records, and prepare payroll. Participates in training activities to increase personal skill level and improve overall department processes and customer service. Meets the physical requirements to perform the job functions listed above. Performs other duties as assigned or requested by the store management personnel. Qualifications Competencies: Friendly Excellent customer service skills Strong leadership skills. Maintain business confidentiality at all times. Must be available for opening, closing and weekend shifts. Good communication and listening skills. Attention to detail and organization. Integrity Knowledge of the grocery industry. Ability to lift (up to a minimum of 25 lbs.) Possesses the math skills necessary to supervise and handle Front-End transactions and operations. Education/Experience: High school education or the equivalent combination of education and background. Must have experience in the retail industry and Front-End operations.
