Description
$125k – $175k • 0.1% – 0.3% Equity Pittsburgh, PA • Hybrid • Early Engineering Hire About the Role We are looking for a full-stack - capable front end rockstar to own the product experience of our next-generation insurance agency platform. You’ll work directly with the founders and technical leads to define, build, and ship the core interface that thousands of agents and clients will use every day. Equal Parts is rebuilding insurance from the ground up - using AI, automation, and modern infrastructure to amplify what actually drives the industry: relationships, trust, and operational excellence. This role is for someone who wants to move fast, design with intention, and ship product that materially changes how agencies operate. If you love ownership, greenfield product, and working across the stack to deliver polished, high-impact experiences—this is the role. What You’ll Do Own the end-to-end front-end architecture for our core platform. Drive UI/UX implementation from Figma/Subframe prototypes to production-ready features. Build clean, resilient, and performant interfaces in Next.js with React Server Components. Integrate deeply with backend REST APIs and AWS services to deliver seamless data flows. Create reusable UI primitives, patterns, and internal component libraries. Partner with founders, designers, and agents to turn ambiguous problems into intuitive workflows. Lead the “experience layer” of our AI-driven features—explanations, interventions, and automation triggers. Ship fast, iterate fast, measure often. Core Front-End / Full-Stack Subframe prototyping environment (or the ability to quickly adopt it). Next.js 13/14 App Router: Server components, route handlers, middleware, caching/ISR, dynamic routes. React 18 + TypeScript: strict typing, hooks, Context API, Suspense patterns. Tailwind CSS: component composition, responsive scaling, utility-first workflows. AWS Amplify: environment config, Cognito auth, hosting, CI/CD, env/secrets management. REST API integration: fetch/Axios, retries, pagination, filtering, error handling, idempotency. State & data boundaries: optimistic updates, error boundaries, loading skeletons, server vs client state. UI architecture: tables, forms, validation, modals, dialogs, drag-and-drop, file uploads. Quality & Tooling ESLint, prettier, TypeScript config mastery. Testing familiarity: Jest/Vitest + React Testing Library. Clean PR workflows, code reviews, commit hygiene. Nice-to-Haves GraphQL / AppSync, Lambda, API Gateway. SWR or React Query for client caching and optimistic concurrency. Performance tuning: Lighthouse, bundle analysis, “why did this render?” expertise. Accessibility fundamentals (WCAG), keyboard interactions, Radix UI primitives. Experience building internal component libraries or design systems. For eligible employees - Equal Parts offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your health, well-being, and financial stability. Major Medical Health Insurance – Robust medical coverage with employer contributions toward premiums. Voluntary Benefits – Access to dental, vision, supplemental life, disability, accident, and other optional coverages.
