Description
Leidos is seeking a full-time Front-End Software Engineer to help support the Catena software project. The project currently operates as a focused team of developers in an Agile software development lifecycle. In this hands-on position, you will work collaboratively to architect, design, build, deliver, and enhance the user interfaces for highly available, scalable systems to multiple customers. This position will be instrumental in shaping the future of our front-end architecture, working closely with backend teams, and ensuring seamless deployment within an AWS environment.
The team is geographically dispersed (remote).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors with 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional experience, trainings, and/or certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • US Citizenship. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Proven ability to define and enforce UI development best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and implementing scalable, maintainable front-end solutions tailored to evolving business needs.
  • Proficiency in front-end web technologies such as HTML, CSS, React, Material UI.
  • Hands-on experience applying Human-Centered Design principles in UI development.
  • Experience creating and utilizing wireframing techniques and tools.
  • Solid understanding of Agile software development practices, including:
  • Scrum teamwork, estimation, ticket creation and management, participation in demos and retrospectives, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Practical knowledge of consuming REST APIs from client-side applications.
  • Working experience with JavaScript, SQL, XML, JSON.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Active DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Software development tools: JIRA, Confluence.
  • Languages/frameworks: SAFe.
Responsibilities
  • Employ ingenuity and creativity to develop new technical solutions and systems to achieve functional objectives.
  • Communicate with internal team members across multiple areas and client team members.
  • Develop UI requirements and personas alongside product owners to refine capabilities.
  • Guide the overarching design and styling of Catena UIs, following best practices and standards.
  • Oversee implementation of UI in React to include proper code and component structure for flexibility and expandability of applications.
  • Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging tools, techniques, and technologies including cloud services.
  • Provide assistance and support for less experienced team members.
