MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Extensive and substantial knowledge of front-end application/web-related standards, regulations, and practices.
  • Demonstrated competencies related to HTML/CSS, PHP, Adobe Creative Suite, IIS, LDAP, and Apache and developing and implementing content management systems (CMS).
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, IT design and development, project management, and problem resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a technical expert on complex web applications, systems, software and projects; interact effectively in a team environment; and work independently with strict deadlines, heavy workload, and changing priorities.
Responsibilities

Come join our team at the Department of Workforce Development and Advancement (DWDA)! In 2023, bipartisan legislation consolidated a dozen workforce development programs and data systems from various existing Commonwealth of Virginia agencies to create the Department of Workforce Development and Advancement (DWDA), known as Virginia Works. On July 1, 2024, Virginia Works stood up as an independent agency dedicated to creating, sustaining, and retaining a highly skilled workforce, and committed to making sure Virginia Works for everyone.
Serves as the agency’s webmaster, web administrator, web designer and developer. Manages all phases and disciplines of the life cycle for one or more systems under general direction. Manages the agency’s public and private (intranet) websites. Handles programming (including enhancements and maintenance) and problem resolution for complex applications and systems. Serves as the Front-end Application Engineer for highly complex systems and applications. Provides technical assistance, training and coaching, as directed.
