Description

Rapid Strategy is an award-winning, African-American-owned small business providing advanced cybersecurity and IT services to federal and commercial clients. Our mission is to deliver secure, high-impact solutions that support national objectives and operational resilience. We are currently seeking mid to senior level Front-End/UX Developer to support an existing federal customer, contingent upon contract award. This role supports the design and development of modern, accessible, and user-centered digital products across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong front-end development skills, a collaborative mindset, and experience delivering web-based applications that meet federal accessibility, usability, and security standards. Senior candidates may be asked to lead development efforts across teams and guide adoption of design systems and cloud-based technologies.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in front-end or UX development.
  • Strong proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Vue, Angular).
  • Experience developing in cloud environments and using cloud-based technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Familiarity with design systems, WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, and Section 508 compliance.
  • Experience supporting multiple digital products of moderate size and complexity.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience leading development teams or efforts across multiple concurrent products.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps environments.
  • Experience integrating CI/CD pipelines and working with design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, or similar.
  • Experience in a federal government or highly regulated environment.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

This role is ideal for mid-level and senior front-end developers with a passion for building clean, responsive, and user-centered web applications. If you have strong technical skills, a sharp eye for design, and thrive in collaborative, fast-paced environments, we encourage you to apply. We’re looking for candidates who can contribute immediately, drive forward-thinking solutions, and—at the senior level—help lead teams and influence product architecture

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain usable, device-agnostic, web-based products using modern front-end frameworks, cloud platforms, and industry-standard coding languages.
  • Translate user research and design mockups into functional, reusable components and user interfaces aligned with design system standards.
  • Ensure adherence to accessibility, navigation, usability, and responsive design best practices.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, product managers, business stakeholders, and end users to understand requirements and recommend technical solutions.
  • Ensure development efforts align with evolving user needs, business goals, and compliance standards throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead or contribute to multiple development projects simultaneously, supporting delivery of moderately complex digital products.
  • Integrate emerging front-end trends, tools, and frameworks into ongoing development practices.
  • Participate in or lead Agile ceremonies, such as sprint planning, retrospectives, and reviews to ensure user-centered and iterative delivery.
  • Promote and support the use of cloud-based environments, CI/CD practices, and collaboration tools for scalable deployment.
  • (Senior-level) Mentor junior team members, lead development teams, and oversee implementation across multiple product lines when applicable.
