Description Front Gates Supervisor(Seasonal Part-Time) Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. The sports and entertainment portfolio at COTA is unmatched in the country with Formula 1 US Grand Prix, NASCAR and MotoGP attracting global fans during championship races on the famed Circuit and Live Nation producing over 30 headline concerts every year at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater. Opening in 2026, COTA’s amusement park, COTALAND, is on over 30-acres featuring two first of their kind Roller Coasters and 30 rides. Job Description: The Front Gates Supervisor plays a key leadership role in front gate operations during concerts and events at COTA + Germania Insurance Amphitheater. This seasonal, part-time position oversees gate staff, maintains efficient guest entry, and ensures all front-of-house entry procedures are executed safely, accurately, and professionally. The Front Gates Supervisor serves as the primary support for scanning teams, security operations, ADA access, and overall guest flow at the venue's entry points. Supervisors must be available to work at least 75% of scheduled events throughout the season. Requirements Requirements & Essential Functions Oversee ticket scanning, credential checks, security checks, and wristbanding operations at assigned gates Coordinate staff assignments, rotations, breaks, and general support throughout the event Troubleshoot scanning issues, ticket discrepancies, and credential concerns Ensure gates open and close on schedule while maintaining safe and efficient guest flow Greet and support guests with questions, directions, and ADA accommodations Monitor crowd movement and ensure gate areas and walkways remain clear and orderly Communicate operational updates with FOH Management, Security, and Box Office Ensure all scanners, radios, counters, wristbands, and signage are accounted for and functioning Report safety issues, security concerns, or guest incidents to FOH Manager and Command Center Remain at assigned gate unless on a scheduled break or reassigned by management Maintain a professional, calm, and guest-focused demeanor in a fast-paced environment Follow all venue policies, procedures, and emergency protocols Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership & Team Management: Able to direct small teams, give clear instruction, and support staff at all experience levels Communication: Communicates effectively with guests, peers, and leadership; able to relay real-time updates clearly and professionally Guest-Centered Mindset: Prioritizes exceptional service and maintains an approachable, solution-focused attitude Sound Judgment: Makes timely, informed decisions and handles unexpected situations with confidence Adaptability: Comfortable adjusting to changing event needs, guest volume, and operational demands Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot equipment, crowd flow issues, or ticketing concems quickly Collaboration: Works well across FOH, Security, Box Office, and other operational teams Reliability: Dependable, punctual, and able to manage responsibilities with minimal supervision Proactive Awareness: Identifies potential issues early and takes initiative to address them before they escalate Required Qualifications Part-time, seasonal position (must be available to work at least 75% of events) 3+ years of experience in event operations, venue management, guest services, or similar fields preferred Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred Excellent communication and decision-making skills Available evenings, weekends, and holidays throughout the event season Must be over 18 years of age Physical Demands & Work Environment Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often the entire shift Must be comfortable working outdoors in extreme Texas weather — including intense heat, humidity, and direct sun exposure for long durations Noise levels may range from moderate to loud during events Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions Equal Employment Opportunity COTA strongly supports equal employment opportunity for all applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, pregnancy, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, marital status, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, sexual orientation, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by state or federal law.
