We’re seeking a versatile and proactive individual to join our team as a
Cashier & Kitchen Team Lead.
This pivotal role primarily focuses on providing exceptional customer service at the cash register, while also requiring proficiency in food preparation and occasional baking. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership potential, helping to ensure smooth operations and a positive experience for both customers and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably as a cashier.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Basic cooking knowledge and experience; baking experience is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cash handling.
Ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Food handler’s certification is an asset or willing to acquire.

Responsibilities

Cashier Operations (Primary Focus):
Accurately process customer orders and payments using the POS system.
Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with precision and efficiency.
Provide friendly, prompt, and knowledgeable service to all customers.
Answer customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure a positive dining experience.
Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the cash counter and dining space.
Manage and reconcile daily cash floats.
Cooking & Food Preparation:
Prepare food items according to established recipes and quality standards.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Ensure all food is cooked to proper temperatures and presented appealingly.
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and report needs to management.
Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Baking Support (Occasional):
Assist with baking tasks as needed, following recipes for various baked goods.
Contribute to the preparation of doughs, batters, and fillings.
Ensure proper storage and rotation of baked items.
Team Leadership & Support:
Provide guidance and support to other team members, especially in the kitchen.
Assist in training new staff on operational procedures and customer service best practices.
Help to maintain an efficient workflow in both front-of-house and kitchen areas.
Address minor operational issues and escalate significant concerns to management.
Uphold company policies and procedures.
