RESPONSIBLE TO: Visitor Services Manager
CONTRACT: 12 months Fixed Term Relief Contract

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:
The primary role of this position is to serve customers in an efficient and courteous manner in the bars and delivering an excellent visitor experience. Reporting to the Visitor Services Manager, the successful applicants will be expected to maintain a high standard of excellence in all contact with customers.

This person will work closely with the Visitor Services Coordinators to deliver on personal and departmental goals and objectives in the context of the Abbey’s overall mission and vision.

  • Promoting The Abbey Theatre and its programme of work in an accurate, informed manner
  • Serving customers at the bars in a fast, efficient and courteous manner at all times.
  • Ensuring the security of the theatre area, anticipating and acting upon customer needs and requirements.
  • Managing access (N-Scan) and crowd control in a calm, proactive and engaging manner.
  • Dealing effectively with customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Being pro-active on behalf of the theatre in the areas of customer care and front of house sales.
  • Ensuring the front of house areas are clean, well presented and that the bars are fully stocked.
  • Managing all financial transactions (Point of Sale system) with accuracy.
  • Being knowledgeable on the Abbey Theatre’s fire and evacuation procedures and attending all emergency and evacuation drills and training in order to be able to carry out emergency procedures correctly.
  • Being aware of the needs of customers with special requirements and ensuring those needs are met.
  • Adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with any other duties as may be deemed applicable by the Sales and Customer Management team.
