ABOUT THE COMPANY

Cubs Play Centre is a brand-new indoor soft play centre and café opening to the public in November 2025. Our mission is to create a safe and enjoyable environment for children while offering a welcoming and comfortable space for adults and caregivers. Our on-site café will serve high-quality food and drinks, and our team members will be trained to deliver professional, friendly and efficient service to all visitors.

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

To support the successful launch of our centre, we are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team. Successful candidates must be available for training in the weeks leading up to opening. As part of our safer recruitment process, all successful applicants will be required to undergo a Basic DBS check and must be at least 18 years old with the right to work in the UK. Welsh language skills are desirable. All staff must be available from mid-October to complete the required training ahead of opening.

Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

As a Front of House Assistant, you’ll be an essential part of our customer-facing team, helping to create a warm and welcoming environment in both the café and reception areas. Reporting to the Business Owner and General Manager, you’ll support day-to-day operations by delivering friendly and efficient service while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism. Your role will contribute directly to providing a positive and safe experience for all visitors, both children and adults, reflecting our commitment to exceptional customer care and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and welcome all visitors with a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Provide efficient café service, including taking orders, preparing drinks, serving food and beverages, and handling payments.
  • Manage reception duties such as answering phone calls, booking sessions or parties, restocking the gift shop, and providing information to customers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in the café, reception area, soft play area, customer toilets, and other public spaces throughout the shift.
  • Work effectively to meet KPIs and maintain standards.
  • Assist with setting up and clearing away for children’s parties and special events.
  • Adhere to health and safety, food hygiene, and safeguarding policies at all times.
  • Report maintenance issues or equipment faults to management promptly.
  • Handle customer enquiries and escalate complaints when necessary.
  • Assist with stock monitoring and restocking café supplies as needed.
  • Provide cover for colleagues and work overtime as required.
