Description

GROUNDED IN SCOTLAND. READY FOR THE WORLD.

At Edinburgh Academy Senior School, our ambition is clear: we want our pupils to be happy, confident, and successful—ready to take on the world. Working in partnership with Sodexo, we are now seeking an experienced and passionate Front of House Catering & Hospitality Supervisor to help us deliver exceptional service in line with our ethos.
This is not an entry-level role. We are looking for someone with a proven track record in high-quality hospitality environments, with hands-on supervisory experience. You’ll need to be proactive, professional, and fully confident managing teams in a fast-paced, customer-focused setting.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the face of our catering and hospitality service, you’ll lead the front-of-house team in delivering a warm, polished, and efficient experience every day—from busy breakfast service to prestigious formal events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise all front-of-house catering and hospitality activity, ensuring standards of service are consistently high.
  • Lead and manage a team of front-line staff, overseeing daily scheduling, training, and performance.
  • Take ownership of breakfast service (Monday–Friday), ensuring smooth delivery and quality presentation.
  • Act as Allergen Champion, ensuring safe and clear communication of allergens at lunch service.
  • Liaise closely with the kitchen and management teams to deliver both routine and bespoke events.
  • Ensure all FOH marketing, menus, and signage are in place and updated daily.
  • Manage stock levels, placing orders through the Head Chef and maintaining supply for both daily service and hospitality functions.
  • Take responsibility for maintaining a clean, welcoming, and professional dining environment at all times.
  • Support with event preparation, including equipment, décor, layout, and staffing.
  • Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, and ensuring all training and compliance documentation is up to date.
  • Be prepared to provide hands-on service support during busy periods, special events, and school holidays.

At Sodexo, we offer more than just a job—we offer the chance to be part of a team with real purpose. Alongside a competitive hourly rate, you’ll benefit from:

  • 24/7 access to a virtual GP and mental health support.
  • Employee Assistance Programme for legal, financial, and emotional support.
  • Sodexo Discounts Scheme for you and your family.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Learning and development resources to help you grow your career.
  • Retirement plan and death-in-service benefit.
  • Volunteering opportunities and a supportive, flexible work environment.
  • Full training and uniform provided
