Operating for nearly 40 years, Wing’s Wildlife Park provides the perfect place for guests to relax, reconnect with nature, and enjoy a unique Tasmanian wildlife experience. We operate 7 days per week, including most public holidays (closed Christmas Day and Anzac Day).

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This position is primarily focused on guest services, reception, admissions, retail, and general front-of-house operations, with occasional assistance provided to the café during busy periods.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys interacting with people, thrives in a fast-paced tourism environment, and takes pride in delivering exceptional customer service and memorable guest experiences.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS:

  • Friendly, smiling, dynamic, professional, and well-presented.
  • Organised, proactive, and customer-focused.
  • Confident promoting and upselling the park's experiences, including animal encounters, guided tours, accommodation, camping, and birthday party packages.
  • Able to make guests feel genuinely welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive.
  • Familiar with the local region and able to promote the park's unique location, onsite accommodation, and camping facilities as an ideal base for exploring the area.
  • Confident working both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Able to remain calm, positive, and unflappable while multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous experience in reception, tourism, hospitality, retail, administration, or customer service is highly regarded.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Welcome guests warmly and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Manage admissions, reservations, accommodation and camping enquiries, and ticket sales.
  • Provide information about the wildlife park, presentations, encounters, accommodation, and experiences.
  • Promote and upsell park experiences, retail items, and café offerings.
  • Answer phone and email enquiries professionally and efficiently.
  • Operate POS/EFTPOS systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Assist with general administrative and reception duties, including filing and correspondence.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception and retail area.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, including till reconciliation.
  • Support special events, birthday parties, group bookings, and functions.
  • Assist with gift shop presentation, stock control, inventory, and merchandising.
  • Assist with training new staff members when required.
