Description

We are looking for a friendly, organised and professional Front of House Receptionist to join our busy veterinary practice.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional, approachable and empathetic manner
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Comfortable using computer systems and booking software
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy environment
  • Previous reception or customer service experience (ideally within a veterinary or healthcare setting, though not essential)
  • A genuine love of animals and commitment to client care
Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll play a vital role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment. From greeting owners and their pets to managing appointments and administrative tasks, you’ll ensure the smooth running of our front desk and deliver a first-class client experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
  • Manage incoming calls, emails, and appointment bookings
  • Maintain accurate client and patient records
  • Handle payments and invoicing
  • Provide information on services, products, and general pet care advice (non-clinical)
  • Support the veterinary team with administrative duties
  • Ensure the reception area is tidy, safe and welcoming

An entrepreneurial nature is a must-have. A healthy appreciation for the benefits of working in a modern setting with a supportive and competent team while being well compensated is a must. In practical terms, this means:

  • Being a self-starter (takes responsibility, gets things done, no hand-holding needed)
  • Being an exceptional problem solver
  • Comfortable with change, as we optimize our clinical model frequently
  • Comfort with ambiguity and able to deal with imperfection
  • The desire to help improve the clinic’s operational performance in meaningful ways
  • Not “gossipy”
  • Serious about work, but fun to be around
