Responsibilities

DUTIES OF A CONCIERGE SECURITY OFFICER

  • Meet and greet all visitors promptly, using the correct protocols to ensure that each visitor feels valued and cared for.
  • Ensure that an exceptional level of service is always maintained in reception areas and meeting suites, including contacting meeting hosts as required.
  • Build and maintain a current working knowledge of all policies, procedures, systems, and developments, as well as general information, to provide staff and visitors with accurate information when needed.
  • Ensure that the telephone is answered in a timely and professional manner, with calls transferred to the appropriate personnel or messages taken as needed.
  • Maintain close working relationships with the relevant Building Management team and coordinate efforts effectively.
  • Handle incidents swiftly and appropriately, adhering to company policies and procedures to ensure safety and security.
  • Be aware of hostile reconnaissance techniques and remain vigilant, identifying and reporting any suspicious behaviour to maintain a secure environment.
  • Manage protests or demonstrations in a calm and composed manner, ensuring the safety of all individuals while maintaining order and following protocols to minimise disruption.
  • Adapt to changes in procedures, policies, or the working environment, ensuring smooth operations through effective change management and assisting others in adapting where necessary.

JOB ROLE REQUIREMENTS OF A CONCIERGE SECURITY OFFICER

  • A valid Frontline SIA licence.
  • First Aid certificate.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a warm, welcoming, and approachable demeanour.
  • Knowledge of Assignment Instructions (AI’s).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to remain customer/client-focused, providing clear and accurate information to all parties.
  • Proficiency in conflict management, maintaining composure and professionalism when handling difficult situations, including protests or public demonstrations.
  • Capable of standing for long periods, demonstrating physical stamina and alertness.
  • Good telephone manner, with the ability to manage calls efficiently and courteously.
  • Basic computer literacy required.
  • Ability to work under pressure and effectively manage a range of situations with calm and professionalism.
  • Experience in change management, demonstrating flexibility and the ability to support the organisation and colleagues during transitions or adjustments in the work environment.
