Description

We’re looking for an experienced member of front of house staff to join the fantastic team at Old Ranfurly!
Position: Front of House Staff
Hours: Varied across the year with more hours in summer, expected to be an average of 25 hours per week.
Application Deadline: Friday 5th September, 5pm
Early in 2025, the club moved away from a franchise model to bring catering in-house. After a positive start to our in-house operation, we are looking to add an experienced member of staff to our front of house team covering both the bar and catering elements of the business. While this position is part-time, we are looking for someone flexible as there will be the opportunity for additional hours in the summer months. We would estimate an average of around 15-20 hours per week for this post.
With bar work being part of the remit, applicants must be over the age of 18 and have experience of working in a similar role elsewhere.
Old Course Ranfurly is known for its welcoming atmosphere and our front of house team are key to that. The successful candidate will be an important part of that team and helping to grow our strong clubhouse operation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience working in a similar role.

  • Knowledge of food service and bar practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with members, guests, and colleagues.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of the front of house area, ensuring smooth and efficient service.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service and ensure member and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage bookings and seating arrangements taking into account event bookings.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food delivery.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Monitor inventory levels of supplies, such as menus, condiments, and utensils.
  • This role will include time spent behind the bar serving drinks, time our on the floor serving tables and time maintaining the back of house areas.
