Location: Death Valley, California Stovepipe Wells in Death Valley National Park - Journey Beyond the Ordinary. Stovepipe Wells has an 80-room hotel, restaurant, bar, pool, gas station, general store, and gift shop. Stovepipe is a welcoming, safe, and environmentally responsible resort providing accommodations and services inside Death Valley National Park. Over the next few years, the resort will undergo upgrades to rejuvenate accommodations and dining for public enjoyment. POWDR operates Stovepipe Wells under a long-term concession contract with the National Park Service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, train, and supervise front-of-house team members, including hosts, servers, and bussers. Ensure all FOH staff adhere to service standards, health and safety regulations, and company policies. Coordinate with the kitchen and BOH team to ensure seamless and efficient service during busy periods. Addressing guest concerns or complaints in a professional manner, resolving issues promptly to enhance the guest experience. Assist in scheduling and organizing shifts to ensure adequate coverage for daily operations. Monitor FOH inventory levels (e.g., utensils, napkins, tableware) and coordinate replenishments as needed. Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate daily specials, key information, and expectations to the team. Ensure cleanliness and presentation of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and host stand. Support onboarding and ongoing training of FOH staff, providing guidance to maintain high standards of service. Collaborate with the Food and Beverage Manager and BOH team on operational improvements and team development. Work Location: Due to the in-person nature of the hospitality business, housing will be provided on-site, and commuting from the local vicinity is also acceptable. Due to the nature of our business, Stovepipe Wells is open every day. You must be prepared to work on a schedule which may include Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience: Able to work and thrive in The Death Valley National Park. Ability to meet requirements and compliance with our concessions contract. Ability to get along well with people, be honest, punctual and reliable. Ability to remain calm and friendly. Ability to adapt to changing work conditions. Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment. Must be over the age of 18 years old Previous experience in a supervisory or lead role in a restaurant or hospitality setting is required. Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team. Excellent guest service and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation regulations, and health standards. Flexible schedule with availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required. Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling procedures is preferred.
