The most secluded hotel in the Lake District is looking for a Guest Service Assistant to join our team.
The Haweswater Hotel is a small but unique 1930’s art deco Hotel in a stunning secluded part of the Lake District. We are the only hotel by the Haweswater Reservoir, surrounded by nature and wildlife.
The hotel offers beautiful uninterrupted views of the Haweswater Valley, ideal for those who love the outdoors.
We have 17 bedrooms, a restaurant by Chef patron Mark Greenaway and a bar area where we welcome dogs.
It is recommended that you have access to your own transport as our location is remote, there is no access by public transport.
We offer live-in accommodation (staff rooms) to the right candidate, including meals.

JOB SUMMARY

In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional service and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Your responsibilities will include taking orders, serving food and beverages, and assisting with various tasks to enhance the dining experience. A passion for hospitality and a commitment to guest satisfaction are essential.

Responsibilities
  • Greet guests warmly and provide excellent customer service .
  • Take accurate orders and relay them to the kitchen staff efficiently.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely manner, ensuring presentation meets our standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the front of house area, including tables, counters, and dining areas.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution.
  • Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during busy periods.
  • Handling payments and guest check in/out procedures
  • Managing phone/email enquiries
