Position: Front of House Team Member
Reports to: Front of House Manager / General Manager
Job Summary: As a Front of House Team Member at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury, you will be the face of our establishment, providing exceptional customer service to ensure an outstanding dining experience for our guests. You will be responsible for welcoming and seating guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and maintaining a clean and inviting environment.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Experience: Previous experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in hospitality or food service.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Customer Focus: Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
  • Team Player: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure a high standard of service and cleanliness.

Responsibilities
  • Customer Service:
  • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave.
  • Provide menus and answer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and potential food allergies.
  • Offer recommendations based on customers’ preferences and requests.
  • Handle complaints or concerns promptly and professionally, seeking assistance from the manager if necessary.
  • Order Taking and Serving:
  • Accurately take food and drink orders using the POS system.
  • Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously.
  • Ensure that orders are accurate and delivered to guests in a timely manner.
  • Monitor tables to anticipate guests’ needs and respond to requests.
  • Table Management:
  • Set up and clear tables efficiently.
  • Ensure table settings are clean and properly arranged.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness in dining areas, including floors, tables, and service stations.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service.
  • Assist colleagues during busy periods to maintain high service standards.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Cash Handling:
  • Process payments accurately, including handling cash and operating the card machine.
  • Maintain proper cash handling procedures and ensure the till balances at the end of the shift for your section
  • Health and Safety:
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including food hygiene and sanitation standards.
  • Report any hazards or incidents to the manager immediately.
