Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Front Office Representative to perform multiple clerical support functions with high volume public contact. The successful candidate will have excellent customer service skills, a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and be proficient in computer skills. The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly stressful environment with challenging encounters. Essential Job Functions: Register patients by collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information Obtain signed registration sheets, permissions, releases, etc. Collect and make change for payments received, complete receipt for patient, and follow appropriate paperwork to record transaction Handle inquiries about insurances accepted, office hours, services, locations, exam fees, doctor information, etc. Handle no-show appointments according to established process Respond to routine requests for information and maintain patient confidentiality Distribute medical record releases and photocopies and log records as appropriate Cooperate and communicate with all staff members and physicians about patient matters Maintain regular attendance and punctuality Perform other duties as assigned Salary: Commensurate with experience. Minimum of three years of work experience, preferably in a medical office setting. Strong alphabetization and spelling skills. Ability to multi-task and remain flexible in a fast-paced environment. Excellent telephone skills and customer service abilities. Strong time management and organizational skills with attention to detail. Experience with scheduling and knowledge of insurance, copy, and referral procedures. Professionalism with a quality-focused mindset. Proficient in operating computer, word processing software, fax machines, and copier machines. Physical Demands Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to communicate via the telephone, view, and type computer data. Must have manual dexterity to file Normally works in a general office environment with the use of computer, printer, telephone, copier, fax, and calculator. Lighting and temperature are adequate, possible exposure to staff or patients with communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens.
