We are currently seeking a Front Office Specialist to join our team. We are a busy ophthalmology practice; therefore, the ideal candidate must have at least one (1) year of prior experience in check in/check out, medical records, scanning in paper charts, answering phones, appointment setting, medical billing, and possess strong customer service skills. This is a weekday, Day shift position... No Weekends/No Holidays!This position will be 3 days per week scheduled with the potential for 4th day depending on practice needs. Schedule will be Mon, Tues, & Thurs are the scheduled days with Friday being the potential additional day. Friday schedules will be known with 1 month notice. Answering phone calls from patients, referring doctors and vendors Having face to face interactions with patients to verify demographic and health insurance information Updating data in an Electronic Health Record Collecting payments of all types including cash, checks, and credit cards Prepping paperwork, mailings, and clerical duties Scheduling appointments and managing the office schedule To be considered, you'll need: High School Diploma or GED preferred 1-2 Years of experience in a front office medical/clinical setting. Ophthalmology preferred. Ideal candidate must be willing to cross train into check in/check out processes. Knowledge of business office procedures Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices Ability to operate a computer, computer software, and basic office equipment Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions Must be well organized and detail-oriented If you are seeking new adventures in patient care and have a passion for going above and beyond to ensure all our patients are given the best patient experience, then we want to hear from you...
