The hybrid position will assist in the organization and daily function of the surgery center in accordance with established Federal, State, and accreditation standards and Center policies and procedures. The right candidate will be proficient in front office administrative duties, billing/coding, and will be willing to assist in some clinical tasks such as rooming patients, turning beds over between cases, answering call lights, and walking patients out after their procedure. Maintains pre-admission files. Prepares patient's charts prior to the patient’s admission. Gathers all chart forms and types identifying patient data on each sheet of the chart. Preparing and submitting clean claims to various insurance companies either electronically or by paper Answering questions from patients, clerical staff, and insurance companies Sending appeals/reconsideration to insurance companies regarding denied claims Identifying and resolving patient billing complaints Checks and verifies all information for accuracy and authenticity and makes any changes as indicated. Greets patients on the day of admissions and reviews patient data for accuracy. Instruct and have the patient sign insurance consignment forms. Completes receipt for the patient when accepting a deposit or complete payment for the surgical procedure. Obtains patient record after discharge and prepares for filing. Reviews records for completeness. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements 2-3 Years of front office experience in a healthcare setting 1+ Years of knowledge of ophthalmology billing/collection practice preferred but not required Ideal candidate must be willing to cross train for small clinical duties & tasks Knowledge of basic medical coding and third-party operating procedures and practices Ability to operate a computer, computer software, and basic office equipment Ability to operate a multi-line telephone system Skill in answering a telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner Must be well organized and detail-oriented If you are seeking new adventures in patient care and have a passion for going above and beyond to ensure all our patients are given the best patient experience, then we want to hear from you...
