Luxurious hotel living with classic European style, The Sutton Place Hotel’s luxury hospitality experience is coming to Halifax. An integral part of Nova Centre, and located in the heart of our city, The Sutton Place Hotel Halifax offers elegant modern charm in a marriage of traditional and contemporary design with the warmth of East Coast Hospitality.
Each of our 262 guest rooms and suites are fully automated with lights, temperature, and fan regulators all accessed through the Allure in-room wall control, iPhone, Android, or manually. An outdoor hot tub, fully equipped fitness centre, on-site Chop Steakhouse & Bar, outdoor fire pits along with underground parking are a few of the amenities that provide the ultimate in service, comfort, and style unique to our well-appointed location.
The key to providing this exceptional service level is our team and we are currently considering candidates for the following Supervisory positions:
Front Office Supervisor
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be a proven Hospitality Supervisor, with experience in a luxury environment. Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Ensuring exceptional service from curb to pillow, and supporting the Guest Service Team, Chef Concierge, Bell & Valet, Corporate Lounge and working closely with all partners
  • Working Supervisor Role- will be required to work along side the Guest Services/ Front desk team
  • Leads by example in service excellence and inventory controls.
  • Reporting to the Front Office Manager, and collaborating daily with all other department leaders, working closely with the Housekeeping and Maintenance Teams
  • Ensuring that Health, Wellness & Safety standards are met and exceeded, including thorough training of teams in emergency procedures and guest safety
  • Execute proper yield management and ensuring all special request and Sutton Prestige Members are recognized per company standard.
  • Motivating, supporting and encouraging team members to provide exceptional services to our guests
  • Supporting/ adjusting and assisting with fair and effective scheduling and performance management of the team members in conjunction with the Front Office Manager Team and Chef Concierge and Human Resources
  • Effective planning, problem-solving, & reporting in order to continually improve operations & efficiency, and achieve service goals as well as financial targets.
  • Key member of the emergency response team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic, energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented individual, with a minimum of two (4) years Hospitality Supervisory experience with a focus on rooms in a similar property environment.

  • Strong knowledge of all facets of the Front Desk Receptionist position, with an unwavering commitment to service excellence, and the ability to support and contribute to the ongoing training and development of the Guest Services Team and Night Auditors
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with clearly demonstrated supervisory and customer service skills
  • The initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and resolve them in a timely manner with sound decision-making skills
  • Strong organizational skills & outstanding attention to detail, with an emphasis on achieving objectives within deadlines
  • Degree/Diploma in Hospitality Management or comparable experience is an asset
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, OPERA or similar Property Management System.
  • Must be legally able to work in Canada
