Job Description
Position: Front Store Customer Service – Merchandising
Reports to: Front Store Manager
Requirements:
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic understanding of retail sales principles and customer service requirements
- Ability to multi-task balancing customer requests and remaining flexible to business needs
- Basic understanding of computerized POS systems
- Familiarity with secondary services such as lottery, licenses, etc.
- Physically able to move products, lift moderate packages, etc.
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of supervision
- Available to work weekends
Specific Duties:
- Primary cashier with responsibility for:
o Organization and appearance of cash counter area
o Ordering and stocking of retail supplies
o Organizing, activating, ordering of lottery supplies
o Stocking of gift cards
o Training of new cashiers
o Informing manager of issues pertaining to part time staff
- Merchandising
o Set up and maintenance of sections assigned by manager in accordance with planograms where available
o Set up and tagging of weekly flyer and/or supervise the set up by part time staff
o Inform manager of pricing discrepancies, stock shortages and recommend products to be cleared
o Order items requested by customers or communicate such to manager
o Perform periodic cycle counts and annual inventory
o Ensure all sections are stocked and overstock is rotated to front store
o Periodic outdate checks
- Customer Service
o Answer customer inquiries about products with the exception of OTC which should be directed to the Pharmacist on duty
o Promote private label alternatives to customers
o Engage with customers searching for items or waiting for prescriptions
- Other
o During absence of manager, daily stock orders to McKesson
o Receiving of recurring products during manager’s absence
o In rare situations, assistance may be needed in the dispensary
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $16.50 per hour
