About Us
We’re a new UK startup with a “work hard, build great things, and do it with an eccentric sense of humour” mentality. We are looking for a frontend developer to take ownership of the UI aspects of our product.
Effective data science remains crucial, yet elusive, for most companies. We will fundamentally overturn how data science is done. Data scientists need to be enabled with theory, training and tooling. We want to approach all these areas from a blank slate given how radically AI is going to change things, but taking advantage of the latest and greatest ideas.
Our platform will be optimised for data science productivity over all other outcomes. This includes the initial learning curve as well as the everyday workflow.
Our marketing is driven by a pipeline of high quality data science YouTube videos and accompanying short-form content. We are looking to use video to make data science topics accessible and enjoyable as well as answer interesting questions about the world we live in. Content will span a funnel from general interest to quite technical deep-dives with a “hands-on” feel.
The Role
We’re looking for someone to take ownership of our user experience. You will work closely with backend developers and the CTO on design aspects. The main implementation language will be JavaScript with some HTML and CSS. We will be leaning heavily on WebGL for scientific visualisations.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Front end feature development for our product. This will be along the lines of “Jupyter notebook” style interface, but somewhat simplified.
  • Working with data scientists to help define and implement or optimise front-end features used in individual data science projects. These features will likely start quite narrow (sufficient for recording a video) but will grow into full reusable product features in time.
  • Engage with code review process, both to incorporate feedback in your own code and provide feedback on others’.
  • Work with DevOps personnel to put your code into production.
  • Write automated tests where practical.
  • Work with Quality Assurance as required for surfacing and debugging issues.
  • Document and communicate your work clearly, including internal presentations and preparing other resources. (Option to present externally / on social media as well.)

What We’re Looking ForMust Haves

  • 1-3 years of experience coding frontends, including JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Willing and able to work with plain old JavaScript over a framework-heavy build. Able to manage code bloat proactively.
  • Familiarity with at least one automated testing framework.
  • Able to be proactive and work independently within a fast pace start-up culture.
  • Not reliant on AI coding assistants. (Although familiarity is good.)
  • Comfortable with continuous improvement, including critical evaluation of how your own work processes can be optimised.
  • Willing to sign a release where you appear in “behind the scenes” footage. (There are opportunities to be in front of the camera if you want.)

Nice to Haves

  • Interest in tech, data science, AI models, education and/or social media content creation.
  • Graphics knowledge such as WebGL, 3D fundamentals, scientific visualisations.
  • Able to read Go code.
  • “Move fast but write good tests” mentality. We are agile, yet methodical.
  • Interest in computer games. (Just something we mostly have in common.)

What We Offer

  • Full time-role with huge scope to grow.
  • Greenfield development with lots of opportunities to reimagine things from the ground up.
  • Mentorship on a wide range of topics from our deeply technical team.
  • Hybrid working (2-3 days in-office in Stratford, London).
  • Paid holiday, pension and start up perks
  • Neurodivergent founders and majority of staff, meaning we are well-equipped to allow you to work in the way that suits you best.
