Description
Description About BetterX BetterX, a subsidiary of Better Collision Centers, was founded in Charleston in 2025 to bring modern technology and AI-driven innovation to the collision repair and service industries. Born from a simple idea — that the right tools can make operations smoother and people’s lives easier — BetterX builds practical, user-focused software that eliminates bottlenecks, simplifies workflows, and helps businesses serve their customers better. We believe technology should be straightforward, fast, and intuitive. We’re building the tools to make it that way — because life is good, and with the right systems, it can always be Better. About the Role As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll be a core contributor to BetterX’s product and engineering team, designing and building intuitive, high-quality user interfaces that power our web and desktop applications. You’ll work closely with the CEO, backend engineers, and operations leaders to deliver products that simplify complex workflows and visualize large, real-world data sets. This is a hands-on role where design thinking meets engineering execution — perfect for a creative problem solver who loves turning ideas into fast, elegant, and reliable software. What You’ll Do Design and deliver modern, user-friendly web applications that serve real operational needs. Build clean, performant, and maintainable code using HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React. Visualize large and complex data sets through clear, actionable dashboards and interfaces. Convert web applications into native desktop experiences using platforms like Tauri or Electron. Collaborate with backend engineers, marketing, and operations to align technical solutions with business goals. Contribute to frontend architecture, documentation, and shared best practices. Continuously learn, iterate, and propose improvements that enhance user experience and team productivity. What You Bring 4+ years of industry experience (or 3+ with a master’s degree) building production-grade web applications. Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React. Experience with frontend build tools such as npm, Vite, or Webpack. Ability to visualize large data sets in dashboards or reporting interfaces. Familiarity with building native desktop applications (Windows or macOS). A strong eye for design, usability, and performance. Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a bias for action. Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with high autonomy and accountability. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) Paid Time Off (PTO) Parental Leave Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance Voluntary life insurance Short-term and long-term disability coverage Professional development and growth opportunities Why BetterX This is your chance to be part of a small, talented team that’s rethinking what technology can do for an entire industry. You’ll have ownership, impact, and the opportunity to build products that make work better for real people every day.
