Description We are in the middle of a company-wide digital transformation focused on modernizing how we build internal tools, customer-facing applications, and AI-powered digital experiences. This role is a key contributor to that effort. You will be hands-on designing and building applications while also helping shape standards, patterns, and approaches for how digital products are delivered across the business. This is a high-ownership role with meaningful impact, well-suited for someone who thrives in small teams, values quality, takes initiative, and wants to help define the future state of a modern manufacturing organization. **This is not a remote position** Requirements Design, build, and evolve modern frontend applications for internal users and external customers Develop responsive, performant, and maintainable interfaces using Next.js and React Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate APIs and deliver seamless end-to-end experiences Take ownership of features from concept through production, including implementation, testing, and iteration Improve UI/UX beyond initial requirements when opportunities for better user outcomes are clear Contribute to frontend architecture decisions, component libraries, and shared patterns Ensure high standards for usability, accessibility, performance, and code quality Use modern development tools (including AI-assisted tools like Cursor or Claude) to improve speed and quality Work closely with business stakeholders to understand workflows and translate them into effective user experiences Flex across projects and priorities as business needs evolve Web & Marketing Support (Occasional) Contribute to updates and improvements on company websites as needed Build or modify marketing pages, landing pages, or lightweight web experiences Ensure consistency in design, branding, and performance across web properties Requirements Technical Experience 3 -5 years of experience building modern web applications Strong experience with React and Next.js (core focus) Solid understanding of frontend architecture, state management, and component design Experience consuming and working with REST APIs Familiarity with SQL and backend concepts (not a primary focus, but helpful) Experience with modern tooling (TypeScript, Git, CI/CD, etc.) Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar) is a plus Experience using AI-assisted development tools is a plus Product and UX Strong passion for user experience and usability, with a desire to make products better through iteration High attention to detail with a quality-focused mindset Ability to think in terms of workflows and outcomes, not just features Willingness to challenge assumptions when it leads to better user experiences Ownership and Mindset Self-starter who takes initiative and does not wait to be told what to do next Strong sense of ownership and accountability for outcomes, not just tasks Comfortable working in a small team environment where individual effort has visible impact Motivated, driven, and naturally curious Intelligent problem-solver who enjoys learning, experimenting, and improving Comfortable navigating ambiguity and turning loose direction into concrete results Strong work ethic with a consistent follow-through mentality Communication and Collaboration Able to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders Collaborative and pragmatic, with a focus on progress and results Willing to share ideas, give feedback, and contribute to team standards What Makes This Role Different Frontend-focused role with real ownership over user experience Direct impact on both internal tools and customer-facing applications Opportunity to shape how modern frontend development is done within the organization Exposure to modern tooling, cloud platforms, and evolving development practices Flexible scope with room to grow as the team and platform expand Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related technical field 3-5 years relevant experience Physical Requirements Computer work for extended periods of time
