Save the Children International TITLE: Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL) Assistant REPORTS TO: FSL Officer LOCATION: SK- Kadugli GRADE: 5 CONTRACT LENGTH: 12 months CHILD SAFEGUARDING: Level 3: the post holder will be in a field-based position and have contact with children and/or young people frequently (e.g. once a week or more). ROLE PURPOSE: Working closely with the FSL Officer, the FSL Assistant will provide the primary point of contact with effected communities, households and children and be responsible for the efficient and effective implementation and monitoring of activities at the village level. KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Liaise regularly with local authorities, including village heads, etc. Facilitate community-based beneficiary identification and verification for program activities. Supports organizing and implementing distributions and provision of other assistance. Responsible for data entry and maintaining program information. Provide regular reports and updates to the FSL Officer on implementation, challenges and opportunities in the field, etc. Under the supervision of the MEAL and technical teams, supports monitoring and evaluation activities, including post distribution monitoring. Ensure any feedback/complaints from communities are responded to appropriately or raised with MEAL staff and the FSL Officer. Any other task & responsibilities given by the line manager and to comply with Save the Children’s policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Essential High school diploma. Motivated, proactive and hard working. Well organised. Good communication skills. Collaborative and willing to work in a team. Able to work while under pressure. Desirable Bachelor’s Degree. Experience working At least 2 years on humanitarian and/or development programming. Basic written and spoken English. Responsibilities
