The EY Financial Services Risk Consulting team is continuing to grow and develop our unique consulting propositions aligned to the market needs and demands and we are currently expanding our Conduct Risk team.

The roles have a primary focus on Conduct Risk and Consumer Protection. You will support the consulting team in delivering risk management solutions to clients, assist in identifying and assessing conduct risks and support the development and execution of risk management strategies that ensure compliance with the Irish Consumer Protection. You will also act as a point of subject matter expertise on Consumer and Conduct Risk matters and contribute to the development and delivery of training programmes. Additionally, you will leverage PMO and transformation capabilities to drive change initiatives and enhance compliance and operational efficiency within client organisations.

Responsibilities

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Manager you will work effectively as a key member within our FS Risk Management team leading out on complex risk and regulatory driven Programmes end-to-end, shaping opportunities, and managing a diverse group of resources across competencies. Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Team Leadership: Manage both client resources and team members across competencies, fostering their professional development and ensuring high-quality service delivery. Leading and mentoring team members across competencies and developing talent pipeline
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends related to conduct risk and consumer protection in Ireland. Work with clients to ensure they are informed about the latest industry trends and meet regulatory and compliance obligations
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify potential conduct risks within client organisations, considering the specific nuances of the financial landscape.
  • Risk Mitigation: Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies that align with Irish regulatory requirements, ensuring that clients maintain high standards of consumer protection.
  • Industry insights: Providing insights and intelligence on conduct risk matters both internally and externally. Develop understanding of our solutions, tools, and assets, while sharing knowledge and drawing on subject matter specialists accordingly.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, industry associations, and clients including C-Suite and Board level, particularly within the Irish market, with strong ability to translate client needs into EY commercial solutions.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on conduct risk assessments, findings, and recommendations for clients and senior management, ensuring alignment with regulatory compliance.
  • Practice Management: Autonomously leading delivery on engagements and workstreams with complex and ambiguous problem statements. Oversee project management and deliverables, ensuring that all projects meet quality standards and regulatory compliance. Develop relevant recommendations and solutions to support clients on their regulatory agenda, leveraging tools to improve efficiency and mitigate areas of risk.   • Project management and Transformation capabilities: Autonomously lead transformation initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and compliance within client organisations, utilising PMO methodologies to manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.
  • Billing and time management: Deliver assignments to a high level of client satisfaction and within agreed timelines and budget. Manage billing and time tracking across projects and Service Quality best practices and standards are delivered on to ensure accurate invoicing and resource utilisation, optimising profitability and efficiency.
  • Personal Development: Invest in continuous learning on industry, regulatory trends and technology, applying insights to drive innovation and client value

Skills and attributes for success

TO QUALIFY FOR THE ROLE, YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field;
  • 10 years experience, with exposure to conduct risk and consumer protection in the Irish context as well as a proven track record of success and experience working across cross functional teams.
  • Ability to manage a team, programme delivery and senior stakeholder engagement is a must
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, develop and be a member of a team of risk consulting professionals
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a solution focused mind-set with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously, demonstrating initiative and self-motivation in managing projects and client relationships.
  • Strong and proven track record of managing and delivering large complex risk and regulatory driven programmes across multiple domains
  • Experience in shaping opportunities and complex programmes with a diverse range of clients, both domestic and international
  • Strong experience in Consumer & Conduct Risk, ideally a mix of industry/regulatory and consulting skills
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the European and Irish regulatory environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills and experience of building strong client relationships
  • Excellent teaming and interpersonal skills and capability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
