EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, or a related field preferred
  • HACCP and ServSafe certifications (or willingness to obtain)

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • Experience working in food safety, QA/QC, or food production preferred
  • Familiarity with HACCP, GMPs, and food safety regulations (FDA/USDA)
  • Basic lab experience and knowledge of food safety testing methods
  • Comfortable using computers and electronic record-keeping systems
  • Strong communication skills; Spanish language skills a plus
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and reliable
  • Team player with a strong sense of urgency and accountability

Payrate $16-$18 hour- based on experience
Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in food or related sciences.

Certifications:

  • HACCP certification
  • ServSafe certification
  • Food Safety

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient with all computer applications in order to perform the job

Other Qualifications, Experience and Competencies:

  • Experience as a QA technician, preferably in a USDA inspected facility preferred
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English.
  • Experience with enforcing a HACCP Program
  • Experience in training and mentoring Team members
  • Experience with basic lab procedure
  • Good verbal and written communication skills - Knowledge of Spanish
  • Must be Organized and attentive to details
  • Must be Self-motivated, have a strong sense of urgency and a bias for action
  • Must be flexible in challenging and complex work environment while firmly maintaining compliance and upholding standards

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work is performed primarily in a manufacturing and warehouse environment, specifically the packing and warehousing areas
  • Standing most of the workday is required.
  • Work requires movement in and out of storerooms, near heavy machinery and freezers
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Support the FSQA team in daily food safety and quality operations, including:

  • Perform routine food safety inspections and GMP audits throughout the facility
  • Conduct allergen tests, Listeria testing, and raw material sampling
  • Verify product weight and temperature on the production line
  • Assist with monthly inspections for glass, brittle plastic, and sanitation standards
  • Calibrate instruments and ensure proper functioning of quality testing equipment
  • Collect retained samples and maintain sample logs
  • Translate policies and procedures for team understanding
  • File, organize, and maintain FSQA documentation and records
  • Support training efforts on GMPs, food safety, and hygiene practices
