GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Vendor Compliance Technician will report to the Supplier and Raw Material Manager. The Vendor Compliance Technician’s primary role is to ensure that all vendors’ documents are requested, reviewed against FreshRealm’s food safety standards, and all certifications and documents are kept current. This role will also help maintain supplier performance indicator documentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Requirements
- Knowledge of Food Safety Modernization Act regulations, food safety, ready to eat (RTE), listeria and pathogen prevention, and risk assessment
- Positive and self-starter attitude with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Strong knowledge and applicable skills in using Microsoft
- TraceGains experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively within the team and with cross-functional partners
- Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of food safety and food microbiology
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to embrace change and learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Microbiology or related discipline required.
- Proficiency in FDA and USDA food safety regulations.
- Minimum 2-4 years experience in quality assurance, food safety, food distribution, food manufacturing, food supply chain, or related field
