Job Details Job Location: Ponca City, OK 74601 Position Type: Full Time POSITION PURPOSE: The FSQS Manager is responsible for leading and developing the FSQS department. The primary focus of this position is to coordinate the responsibilities of the department with the Operations, Sanitation, and Engineering departments to ensure 100% customer satisfaction in all areas of assured supply, product specifications, and food safety. Qualifications ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES. Other duties may be assigned. 1.Focus on adherence to product specifications, sensory attributes, PQI/food claims, animal welfare, export requirements and other related industry information. 2. Work closely with the HACCP Coordinator as well as the Director of FSQS to ensure the HACCP plans and SSOP programs are current and applicable 3. Perform daily travel paths with the QA Supervisors and technicians to identify and address opportunities impacting product quality, food safety and plant safety. 4. Responsible for process data review and to communicate deficiencies and/or trends to the management team of the facility as well as ensure timely completion and reporting of customer required data. 5 Develop, implement and evaluate annual budget for the FSQS department. 6. Prepare and present departmental and/or facility data as required to a variety of both internal and external groups. 7. Responsible for the continued growth and development of all members of the department, ensuring those identified as back-ups for key positions receive the grooming and mentoring necessary to provide a strong platform from which to promote. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or experience Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Meat Science or other related field and a minimum of 3 years Quality Assurance / Food Safety or other related experience. Leadership experience is preferred. Experience with implementing Statistical Process Control is also preferred. Certificates, licenses, registrations The FSQS Superintendent shall attend and receive certification in both Basic and Advanced HACCP through any HACCP Alliance Certified program. The FSQS Superintendents are required to attend annual food and plant safety trainings. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time as well as extreme heat and cold in the manufacturing plant that may require a person to wear PPE to include freezer jackets, eye and ear protection, rubber boots and a bump cap. Production environments range in temperatures between -10 to 40°F. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
