JOB DESCRIPTION

Learning Potential Foundation is looking for an Alberta Certificated Teacher to join our multidisciplinary team for the 2025-26 school year.

1) COORDINATING TEACHER IN AIRDRIE (FULL TIME POSITION; INCLUDES 4 SITES)

Learning Potential provides supports in preschools, daycares, and licensed dayhomes settings to children who are EAL or who have mild, moderate, or severe delays and/or special needs. We work as a multifaceted team to ensure each child receives the care and support that they need to thrive.
We are looking for an AB Certificated Teachers who will:
-be available full time from Mon-Fri
-ensure that instruction and program delivery align with and exceed the requirements set out by Alberta Education for both Kindergarten and ECS programs (you would visit several childcare programs on your schedule)
-directly collaborate with childcare programs, supporting them with educational programming and Individual Program Plan development for children who attend childcares in Calgary
-work closely with other interdisciplinary team members to plan and implement creative, developmentally appropriate programming that meets the unique needs of the children who attend Learning Potential programs

Requirements:

  • Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (either Interim or Permanent)
  • Experience working with children with special needs
  • Current Alberta driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal (Ukrainian &/or Spanish an asset)
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff
  • Strong communication, leadership, time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of special education and works comfortably with early learners from ages 2 to 6 years
  • Ability to work collaboratively on a team, as well as an ability to take initiative and work independently

Extensive knowledge of:

  • Teaching Quality Standard
  • Alberta Learning Curriculum for Kindergarten
  • Health & Safety Guidelines for Child Care Facilities
  • Tact, discretion, and ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-Level C certification
  • Clearance from a Criminal Record check, including a Vulnerable Sector check, current within the last six months
