Reporting to the Food Store Manager / Assistant Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided at all times.
  • Assist in the development of employee schedules, and assign work task for each shift.
  • Ensure orders are received properly, piece counts are conducted, and claims are processed
  • Ensure proper merchandising and housekeeping standards within the grocery department including adequate display, stock, and rotation of products.
  • Assist in the management of inventory including ordering, receiving and record management of all products within the grocery department.
  • Assist with training the grocery team while fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all team members in the pursuit of desired results.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for all employees, customers, and vendors. Ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety requirements.
  • Responsible for the security of property, equipment at the store and maintain a constant alert for the unauthorized removal of merchandise from the store and to report the discrepancies to the Food Store Manager or designate.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum Grade 12 diploma or equivalent education.
  • Must possess a minimum of 3 years’ related experience in a food store, with at least one of those years in a functional supervisory role.
  • Must be strongly service oriented and motivated, and capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Must have ability and experience in leading, training and supervising others.
  • Must be able to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends .
  • a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
