Description FT, Security (Community Response Team)1pm-11pm, rotating weekends Bishop Gadsden located on James Island, is known as the Southeast's leading life care retirement community and is located on 134 acres of lush marshlands and majestic oaks on James Island, just 10 minutes from downtown Charleston! As a Community Response Team Member at Bishop Gadsden, you'll play a vital role in maintaining safety and security throughout our community buildings and surrounding areas, following established standards and assigned responsibilities. A Typical Day: Patrol halls and grounds of community on a regular basis throughout shift according to standard procedure. Provide high visibility and presence to assure residents of caution and care. Complete incident reports as needed. Respond to emergency pager according to procedure. Follow procedure for emergency including directing EMS if needed. Deliver prescription and other deliveries after hours if needed. Assist in checking residences if unusual situations warrant and require. Conduct and perform fire drills according to procedure. Check fire extinguishers and assist in monthly and annual inspections. Trap and neutralize wildlife as necessary. Requirements What We Need In A Candidate: At least twenty-one (21) years of age. High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. General experience in security preferred. Valid SC driver’s license. Able to successfully complete training and be certified in Advanced First Aid (first responder) within 90 days of hiring date. Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and Bishop Gadsden employees. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and written. Ability to lift and/or carry weights of up to 50 pounds.
