JOB SUMMARY

Free Play for Kids is looking for passionate Head Coaches to join our Free to Play program part-time, starting late August 2025 for the 2025–2026 school year. If you’re great at engaging kids and have strong interpersonal skills, we’d love to have you on our team.
As a Head Coach, you’ll lead after-school programming at one of 24 elementary schools, blending sport with physical literacy, social-emotional learning, and nutrition education.
This role is perfect for those with a background in sport or recreation who want to lead, mentor, and make a meaningful impact in their community. If that sounds like you, we encourage you to apply!

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working towards or completed a degree or diploma in Physical Education, Sport, and Recreation, Kinesiology, Education, Sociology, Psychology, Early Childhood Education, or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth, such as coaching, social work, in-school services, after-school programs, day homes, or summer camps.
  • Experience managing or leading a team.
  • Standard First Aid Certification and CPR training, or the ability to obtain quickly.
  • Valid driver’s license with a reliable vehicle.
  • Clear up-to-date Criminal and Vulnerable Sector check.
  • Experience playing a variety of sports is considered a major asset.
  • Valid certifications in coaching would be considered a major asset.
  • Experience in customer service and maintaining positive communication is considered a major asset.
  • Proficiency with using Amilia, Connecteams, Google Suite, and all its applications is considered a major asset.
